

BIOGRAPHY
Marc Durham has over fifty years of experience in the music business as a musician, singer, songwriter, arranger and producer. As a bass player, he has toured with Tanya Tucker, Dorsey Burnette, Billly Burnette, Bo Diddley, The Sweethearts of the Rodeo, Vince Gill, Wolfman Jack, Juice Newton, Marty Stuart, Shelby Lynne, and Roger Miller.
During the early 1970s, Marc was a founding member of the band, "Buckwheat." They landed a record deal with London Records in 1971 and released four albums over the next three years. In 1979, Durham joined the L.A. based Texas rock 'n roll band, "Blue Steel", who had a Top 40 hit with his original, "No More Lonely Nights" on Infinity /MCA Records. https://youtu.be/ksrT8ll-80c Blue Steel was invited by The Eagles to open 36 shows on their Long Run Tour.

Marc Durham is from Erick, Oklahoma...the same little town as Roger Miller https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Miller, Sheb Wooley https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheb_Wooley, and songwriter, Micheal Smotherman. Marc started taking piano lessons when he was eight. In junior high, he began playing trombone and eventually earned a music scholarship at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. While in high school, Marc and some high school buddies formed a band called "The Committee." During his college years, he was in the "In- Men," a very popular KOMA Teen Hop Band at the time. After graduating with a business degree, Marc landed a job at a major corporation in Oklahoma City and stopped playing music altogether. But, when he was offered a job making three times the money playing bass for The Roadrunners, a nationally touring band, he gave his two-minute notice and never looked back.
Marc Durham has written over 300 songs, and you can hear many of them on the playlists on this website. He has written with Hank Cochran, Larry Shaw, Billy Burnette, Tom Hagan, Tony Colton, John Herron, Micheal Smotherman, Shelby Lynne, Mentor Williams, and many others. Marc is in the process of writing an autobiography entitled "If I'm Lyin I'm Dyin," a collection of short stories based on his true life experiences. It is a work in progress so no release date has been announced at this time.

In April '23 Durham joined Jimmy and Heather Collins' new independent Nashville-based record label, Flyin C Records, as VP of Promotions. The first single, "Easy Does It" by Brooke Graham was released May 15, 2023 has received critical acclaim and is quickly making its way up the Independent Music Charts.
